I just read John’s obituary. It saddens me to know he’s gone, but Jack led a long, productive life. He was a major influence in my life, having been my first Detachment Commander, in Meaford, when I joined the OPP in the early 1970s. Not only was he my boss, but Jack was a mentor, a friend, and an all-round great guy. To the Maltman family … you really had a gem there. Take good care.

My sincere condolences to the Maltman family and in particular to Jackie, Susan, and Deborah, remembered from high school in Markdale, and from time to time during the five decades since then. Please know my thoughts are with you at this time…..
