West Ough, Margaret Ethel
Margaret West Ough (nee Doty) passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood in her 98th year.
She was preceded in death by her parents Augustus Doty and Ethel Lavin and siblings Ethel, Edward, Florence, Mary, Frank, Vera, Theresa and Bob. She was a dear sister of Pat Doty (Ginny), Jim Doty (Peg), and Helen McLeod. Margaret was predeceased by beloved husbands Albert ‘Bert’ West and Harold Ough; daughters Marlene West-Yen (JC) and Kathryn West.
Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her children Carole Kainz (late Karl), Susan Flack (Joanne), Chris West (Donna), Mary Longard (Roy) and Patricia West (Jeremy); grandchildren Andrew (Lina), Jeffrey (Laura), Jason (Lara), Scott (Katarina), Sandra (Trevor), Kathy (Michael), Nicole, Matthew (Valerie), Michelle (Kenny), Kristina, Michael, Jesse (Heather), Charlie, Kaitlin, Lucas, Emily (Ryan), great-grandchildren Jonathan (Erin), Wyatt, Emma, Noah, Remi and great-great grandchildren Amy and Brad.
Margaret will be fondly remembered by many in the Thornbury, ON community she has called home for many years.
The family extends thanks to the staff and volunteers at Campbell House for providing comfort at the end and to Dr. Karin Euler for her devoted care and kindness in recent years.
A funeral mass and celebration of Margaret’s life followed immediately by a reception will be conducted on Saturday September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure’s Church, 1300 Leslie Street, Toronto.
If so desired and as your expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, Meaford (www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca) to whom arrangements have been entrusted.

We have fond memories of visiting Margaret when staying with Marlene and JC at their farm in Heathcote. We know that family and friends will support each other at this time of loss.
