Seagram, Martha Ann
Martha Ann Seagram (nee O’Kell, formerly Simmonds) passed away suddenly on October 3rd at Owen Sound Hospital, in her 71st year.

She is survived by her brother David, his wife Sue Gordon, nephew Patrick O’Kell and niece Katie (Colin Fall); as well as her two children, Kelly Seagram (Mitchel Kajiura), Sean Dinsmore (Cassidy) and her two grandsons, Rhodes and Myles Dinsmore. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Reginald O’Kell, and mother Nancy Elizabeth Hay “Nan” Coristine (nee Hooper). She is also remembered by John D Seagram, Michael J Dinsmore, John G Simmonds, James L Brown and their families.
Martha attended Havergal College in Toronto, where she was born and raised. Martha’s many travels inspired her love of Europe, especially France, as well as the Sans Souci area of Georgian Bay, and the out-islands of the Bahamas. She enjoyed skiing, was a confident boater, and cultivated a knowledge of standardbred and thoroughbred horse racing along with discernment in food, wine, and art. She created ‘Sans Argent’ on Victoria Sideroad, a beautiful small farm that was a cherished part of her children’s formative years. Martha moved to the Lexington, Kentucky region and nurtured a social world with many friendships there. A compulsive host, over her lifetime Martha brought together countless friends and strangers to enjoy good company around her table. Her children would like to extend their appreciation to Martha’s neighbours in Thornbury for their generous assistance. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation or the St. George’s Anglican Church Clarksburg would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Kelley & Sean
Our condolences on the passing of your mother.
Although we only knew Martha for a few short years she made a lasting impression. Every time I met with Martha she’d tell me more about her time on Perdue Island. It was clear she loved it there. The last time I met with Martha (a few days before moving to Owen Sound) she shared the charts and stories of how her father taught her how to drive a boat and navigate the waters of Sans Souci. We have hug those charts on the wall in the cottage and taken all the old photo graphs she gave us and created a collage and hung those on the wall as well in Martha’s honour.
There will is always be a part of Martha
On Perdue Island.
Rest In peace Martha

To Martha’s family.
I am so sorry to hear of Martha’s passing. She and I were friends many, many years ago. We first met in Muskoka and kept our friendship going for a number of years. Through Martha I met some of my very best life long friends and for that I am truly grateful. May you rest in peace Martha.
With love
Cynthia Taylor
