Murray, Alan Stewart
Alan Stewart Murray passed away suddenly at Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital on June 28, 2026 at the age of 89.

Born at home in Thornbury on March 26, 1937, Alan was the eldest son of the late Jock and Sarah (nee Brown) Murray. The family later moved to St. Vincent Township where Alan was raised.
Alan married the love of his life, Shirley (nee Robinson) on July 1, 1967.
He made a career driving truck until his retirement over 25 years ago. After Alan and Shirley retired they both enjoyed music and camping with the Gypsy Campers.
Alan was predeceased by his dear wife Shirley in 2005. After Shirley’s passing, he continued to play music and camp, loading the travel trailer and traveling on his own to various music festivals.
Alan’s coffee gang were very important to him, he looked forward to meeting once, if not twice a day. For many years he enjoyed getting out to the yearly hunting trip with friends.
Alan leaves behind his siblings; Heather Lambe, Ian (Barb) Murray and Janet (Jack) Almas, his niece Val (Wayne) Breadner and nephew George Boyes (Linda).
Alan was predeceased by his sisters Donna (in infancy), Joan Paterson and brothers Robert and Roderick.
He will be dearly remembered by the Robinson family and his many nieces and nephews and their families.

Mary and I offer our sympathies to the family. We had the pleasure of playing music for a year or so with Al in the “Happy Fiddlers,” led by the late Jack Falls. We very much enjoyed our time with this group, and Al’s mandolin-playing.
