Golchuk, Andrew William 'Andy'

Andy Golchuk passed away peacefully at Meaford Long Term Care Centre with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 89.

He will be missed dearly by his beloved wife Connie (nee Burke) Golchuk.

Andy was the adored father of Marjie and Steven and grandfather of Catie (Andre), Dylan, Gabbi and Jenna, and the great grandfather of four.

He was the much loved brother of Betty, and was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Andy was a mechanic for Ford for many years in the Niagara Region before he and Connie started a new chapter and started buying and operating motels throughout Ontario. This was how they landed in Meaford and bought the Meaford Motel.  After selling the motel they decided to travel, which they both enjoyed immensely.  Andy had a full and rich life doing the things he loved.

A special thank you to the staff at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre where Andy has lived the past few years, and Connie continues to live. They have provided excellent care and friendship and have quickly become extended family.

Private family arrangements at this time.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary or the Meaford Nursing Home Auxiliary (cheques only please) would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Andrew was my big brother!! I was the baby of a family of 5 siblings. They gave me the name of ‘ Cookie’. That is the only name Andrew ever called me. His love for animals was past on to us all. He was a quiet man with a good sense of humour. We all will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my dear brother. Sadly missed by all our family.

-Love from Betty (Cookie) Cedric, and family.
