Lyon, Annie Etta

Annie Lyon, formerly of Meaford, passed away peacefully at Summit Place Nursing Home in Owen Sound on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in her 101st year.

Born in St. Vincent Township on July 31, 1919, Annie was a daughter of the late Robert and Ellen ‘Nelly’ (nee Cavers) Smith.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Mac Lyon in 2000.

Annie is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Lloyd Lyon and his wife Carol, and by her daughter Carol Jolley (late Lindsay). She was the proud grandmother of seven, great grandmother of fourteen, and great great grandmother of eight.  She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Annie was predeceased by her brothers, Fred, George, Jim, Harvey, and Bill, and by her sisters, Margaret, Jean, Maude, and Retta.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, a small family service of committal and interment will take place and Annie will be laid to rest beside her husband Mac at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

    We were sorry to read of Annie’s passing. She had a wonderfully full life. We always enjoyed our visits with her and Mac at cousin Doug’s cottage at Thanksgiving. Our condolences to all her family.
