Vickers, Bernice 'Helen'
Helen passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the age of 97.
Born in Euphrasia Township on February 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Israel and Edith (nee Raggett) Curry.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husbands Gerald Boyes and Vernon Vickers.
She was the much-loved mother of Keith Boyes and his wife Kathy of Mississauga.
Helen was the proud grandmother of Steven Boyes and his wife Alannah and great grandmother of Lilly-Grace.
She will be dearly missed by her sister Florence Brown (late Maurice), and was predeceased by her sisters Pauline Palmer (late Don) and May Boyd (late Herb).
Helen will be remembered fondly by the Vickers family and by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Long standing and proud member of the Meaford and St. Vincent Agricultural Society, Helen loved showing at the local fall fairs. She enjoyed getting up and dancing and spending time with family and friends. Helen truly loved the rural lifestyle and everything that came with it. Many stories have been shared while quilting and during the coffee time afterwards. Helen also enjoyed gardening and finishing a good ‘Word Search’.
Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 o’clock with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery.
