Picard, Bernie David

Bernie Picard, also known to his friends as “The French Guy”, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in Brockton, ON at the age of 64.

Born on December 17,1961 in Newmarket, ON, a son of the late Bernard and Gloria Picard.

Bernie is survived by his daughter Megan Brown.  He was the dear brother of Kathy Slater (Grant) and Jeannette Dixon (Doug).

Bernie was well known for his kind heart and his sense of humour. He loved a good party and enjoyed playing the spoons, he really liked to make people laugh. Bernie was a great friend and was always willing to help others.  He will certainly be missed by his loyal and loving dog ‘Buddy’, who has been a great companion over the years.

Bernie will be missed terribly but will never be forgotten.

A private service of interment will be conducted at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Owen Sound.  A celebration of Bernie’s life will take place at a later date.

    My wife Jennifer Shortt and I, Wayne Button send our Condolences to Bernie’s Family and all who knew him. Bernie was our neighbour at Fairview Apartments on Parker St W, here in Meaford. We loved ❤️ his sense of humour, great guy, always had a way to make us and whoever was around him, laugh, he had a heart ❤️ as big or bigger than Canada ! One memory we would like to share, he put a cowboy hat on his head and asked one of our neighbour’s, “Howdy, have you seen my horse?” Well we laughed our arses off! He would pull it off, just out of the blue. You’ll be sadly missed Bernie, it was a shocker when we first learned the news of his passing. R.I.P. Bernie until we meet again.
