House, Beverley 'Bev'

After a brave battle with cancer, Beverley “Bev” House passed away peacefully at Mariposa House Hospice on Saturday, June 3rd, in his 69th year.

Bev was born on February 20, 1955 to parents Earl and Vera House (predeceased).

“Bear” will be greatly missed by his siblings Jan (Dave), Art, Ted (Diane), Daryl (Glenda), and Kathryn (Wayne), and will be golfing in Heaven with his brothers Larry and Tom, both predeceased.

Bev’s greatest love in life was his family. He married Linda in 1988, and shortly after came his son, Jeremy (Jenn) followed by his daughter, Emily (Ethan). He always enjoyed looking at Christmas lights and doing a tour around Orillia with Emily every Christmas Eve. Bev was a beloved Grampa to Andrew and Nathan, and he always loved watching his little buddies learn, grow and laugh. The boys will miss him deeply but have countless joyful memories to last a lifetime.

Along with his love for family, Bev’s biggest joy was the annual golf tournament, appropriately named the Annual Invitational Piss Pot Golf Tournament (A.I.P.P.G.T.). Bev and his brothers were the founding fathers of this amazing event and are proud to have kept this tournament going yearly for over 50 years. Bev was ecstatic to know that the tournament would continue onto future generations, through his children and grandchildren. The tournament this year won’t be the same without him, but we will be sure to continue it on strongly in his honour.

Bev received amazing care up to his final days, and we wish to greatly thank the staff at RVH, OSMH, and Mariposa House Hospice.

As per Bev’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

As your expression of sympathy, messages of condolence and/or donations to Mariposa House Hospice or the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre would be appreciated and may be made through the Simcoe Funeral Home in Orillia or the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford.
