Ferris, Bradley Roy

Brad Ferris passed away at his home in Meaford on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the age of 65.

Born on October 20, 1958 in Meaford, he was the son of the late Roy and Eleanor (nee Loucks) Ferris.

Brad is survived by his son Nate Johnson Ferris (Win).

He was predeceased by his sisters Brenda Schultz (late David) and Darlene Vallins (late Carron).

Brad will be remembered fondly by his nieces Angela Morris (Glenn), Cindy Frost (Oliver), Rhawnie Vallins (Tania), his nephew Jeff Vallins (Melanie), and his great nieces and nephews.

Brad was a kind, caring and thoughtful uncle and friend. He will be missed but will never be forgotten.

In his early years Brad loved everything that moved fast.  He was extremely bright and knowledgeable and was willing and able to discuss anything. Brad was forward thinking about the impact of today’s decisions on the environment in years to come. He knew many facts and definitely had his opinions! Brad was a talented and skilled carpenter. He loved to cook and was very proud of his vegetable garden.  Brad spent many years fishing on the shores of the Big Head River and Georgian Bay.  This was definitely his happy place with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.

    Uncle Bradley,

Of late, I will definitely miss our phone calls and the funny conversations. I loved your sense of humour and how you always said it like it was. Thanks for reminding me the simpler your life, the better. You never wanted or needed much of anything. I am so grateful you were always part of my life. I am so proud to be your niece. I will miss you and your kind cranky ass heart!

Brad….I met you before meeting other friends in Meaford. Our parents spent alot of time together. You were our Best Man in 1982. To Brad’s son Nathan, your Dad beamed when talking about you. To Nathan and the rest of Brad’s family my deepest sympathy. Carol Sadler

When Cooney called us with the news we were shocked beyond belief and saddened. All the effort to get your deck ready to get to your gardens and you won’t be here. Getting your scooter to get around town, maintaining your independence, talking about your leg. Exciting times. Taking care of you at the hospital, you wheeling down the road to our house to hang out, we are going to miss you. Bev hopes your fishing in heaven and catchin’ lots. Love you and miss you already.

Brad was a talented individual in many facets of his life. His creativity adventurousness and good heart to name a few. When he helped build “the cabin” I wonder if he knew how many memories and fun he contributed to.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
    Condolences to his family.
