Martin, Christina Mary 'Chris'

Christina Martin passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital with her family by her side on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the age of 74.

Born in Toronto on December 5, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (nee Moore) Steane.

Chris was predeceased by her beloved husband William ‘Fult’ Martin on October 31, 2014.

She was the much-loved Mom and devoted Grandma of Clayton Martin of Oshawa; ‘Kat’ Martin-Gibbons and her husband Lloyd of Owen Sound and their children Darryl, Ryan and Devon; Laura and her husband Gary McCausland of Meaford and their children Andy (Meghan), Brendan (Hayley) and Emily (Riley); Tammy and her husband Greg Jeffries of Chatham and their children Matthew (Amanda), Colin (Heather), and Meaghan (Steve). She was the very proud ‘GiGi’ of Brooklyn, Olivia, Ryker, Bo, Ben, Maisy, Brianna, Layla, Owen and Austin.

Chris will be remembered fondly by her siblings, Martin in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Chris looked forward to her time in Huntsville at the cottage ‘the village’, where everyone could spend time together enjoying each other’s company, playing games, sharing meals and laughs.  She had a great sense of humour.  Chris also loved sitting and relaxing with a good book.

A special thank you to the staff at the Meaford Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Chris and her family during this challenging time.  Your kindness will never be forgotten.

My heart is so sad. Chris and I were like sisters. We spent a lot of time together over the years. There are so many memories. Chris had such a warm heart. When visiting her in the hospital and talking to her on the phone she was always positive and smiling. I am going to miss her so much. She is in my prayers and thoughts.
Rest Well Chris, you are one of the best. So many family members were there to meet you to guide you to your heavenly home.
