Moore, Christine Ann

It is with profound sadness the family of Christine Ann Moore announces her peaceful and dignified passing with her family by her side on Tuesday September 8th at the age of 63 after a courageous fight with ALS.

Christine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 25 years, Chris, who had to take up golf to marry his sweetheart, and by her loving children, Ben, Tory and Christopher; brothers Robert (Daria) Boyko, Walter (Eva) Boyko; brother-in-law Robert (Pauline) Moore;  sister-in-law Joanne ( Brian ) Allard; father-in-law Anthony Moore and the many nephews, nieces and the very many friends she so easily acquired who she loved, appreciated and were so important in her life.

Christine was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Rose Boyko.

Christine was born in Toronto on July 27 1957, attended schools in Toronto, Lorne Park and graduated from McMaster University in 1980.  A wonderful mother, a beautiful, talented and gracious wife, she volunteered for her community but her passion was all things related to sports.  She was very active throughout her life playing squash, tennis, golf, cycling, and kayaking.  Any physical activity was met with enthusiasm, and for those that played with her, a determination to win.  Later in life she found other hidden talents with her painting and became quite an accomplished Bridge player, which again she loved to play with her friends.

A celebration of Christine’s life will be announced and held at a later date. If you feel you would like to contribute to Christine’s memory, a donation to the Canadian ALS Society in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON  N4L 1B9 www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca to whom arrangements have been entrusted.

When someone we cherish becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Our hearts are blessed and overflowing with many beautiful memories of times spent with Christine; she touched our lives with kindness, love and a lot of laughter. In celebrating Christine’s life, we will remember her contagious laughter, her beautiful smile, her positive strength, and especially her devoted love for her Chris … and her amazing carrot cake. May our love embrace Chris, Ben, Tory & Christopher, Pauline & Rob and help comfort them through the days ahead.

Chris, my heart is broken for you and your family. Although it has been many years, in keeping in touch with Pam and John I knew that you and Christine had made a beautiful life together and were just starting a new chapter. I read something the other day that seemed so true. “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”. I hope that all your memories will help you through the road ahead.

Chris and Christine were our neighbours for the first 7 years that we lived in the Deer Ridge community. We first got to know Christine through the love of her dog Penny and saw her walking her daily. We then were so fortunate to participate in several progressive dinners with her. Christine was always smiling and shared such positive energy always.
We last saw Christine last summer at the marina and despite her illness she was still smiling and so happy.
Christine you always made others smile. May you be at peace now. We are blessed to know you.
Sending love and best wishes to the children, Chris, Rob and Pauline.

I am so saddened to hear of Christine’s passing. She and I were good friends in Grade 10 at Lorne Park. I have many fond memories of hanging out with her at the pizza place as she took orders. I remember her as a person who smiled easily, and who was a great athlete. My sincere condolences to all of the family.

Please accept my condolences and prayers with the loss of Christine. My brother, sister and I were friends in high school and I would run into Christine from time to time when she lived in Ottawa so many years ago. She never changed and was always the nice friendly person with that kind smile. Her parents gave me one of my first jobs working at their pizza take out store at Southdown Mall. Great memories, great times. Again, so sorry.

Our family was so sad to hear of Christine’s passing. She was truly beautiful inside and out.

The world has lost a very special person who was fun, loving, caring & thoughtful.

Our thoughts are with Chris, Ben, Tori and Christopher. She was a loving wife and a proud & caring mother.

We loved being neighbours with the Moore family and have many memories of neighbourhood get togethers – our infamous Christmas House Tour, golfing and spontaneous fun on Whisperwood Court.

We will always remember Christine with her special smile, gentle words and elegance.
