Andersen, Cooper John Francis

It is with unbearable pain and sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sweet Cooper.

Cooper was one in a million, touching each person in his life. You became a steadfast friend even after meeting him for the first time. Cooper was a beacon of light. Always smiling and making jokes. His opinions and banter always made for the best of conversations. One of a kind presence and generous loving heart was felt by all who knew him.

‘Cooper we can hear your laughter from heaven through all our tears. We love you to the moon and back Pooker.’ Mom, Dad and Dip

I am so sorry for all of you in Cooper’s family at this very sad time. I remember Cooper from a Drama class at GBSS where I worked as an Educational Assistant supporting students with developmental delays. Cooper loved Drama and was always ready for a laugh and would volunteer for anything and he would have an opinion on everything ! What I remember most about him is that he always included the students that I supported ; he was friendly and outgoing and he always made sure that everyone was included. My heart goes out to you all. Take care of each other.

    Dear Suzanne, Mark, and Cole.
I met Cooper when I first came to our shared University of Guelph. I met him through my current boyfriend, Lucas, and let me tell you that these boys were such a delight to be around. Cooper never had a bad bone in his body. I’ve never seen him express an emotion other than happiness. He was a giver, not a taker. Over the course of the recent couple years, I’ve known him to be an amazing friend, an amazing person. I am honoured to have met Cooper in my lifetime. It is needless to say that he has taught me and our friends a lifelong lesson of how we all should be. I will never forget Cooper. I pray every day for your family and that you find and gain strength in each other to celebrate his life and beautiful soul. Rest In Peace Cooper Andersen, we all love you ❤️.

    To Cooper’s family,

My deepest condolences for your loss.

Cooper and I worked in close proximity when he was at Colliers. I started there in January and he was one of the most welcoming people to me despite not even being on the same team. He took the time to share industry knowledge, and took me on my first building walk. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to work together for very long, it was abundantly clear that he is a considerate, kind and talented person.

Wishing your family strength during this difficult time.

“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go” ~ Jamie Anderson

I had the pleasure of working with Cooper over the last number of months and am heartbroken by the loss. He was inquisitive, respectful, polite and an authentically genuine person. He always had a great smile whenever he learned something new and at the thought of a future opportunity. I will always miss our morning coffees and am saddened by the thought of all the good times we had yet to share. Rest In Peace my friend.

    Mark:

I wanted to respond to the news of Cooper’s passing the moment Kelly Richardson reached out to me, but I couldn’t. Truthfully, I was in too much shock. The news completely shut me down. Words wouldn’t come.
Just endless head shaking and growing sadness for what you must be feeling and going through. Cooper’s news didn’t just make me sad, it made me angry. Angry that such an awful event could happen to such good people. Such loving parents. Angry that life seems to be taking a lot more than it is giving these days.

It’s been two weeks since I first heard this devastating news and I am still no closer to reconciling anything about the loss of this fine young man. I can’t even begin to imagine what you must be going through. It sickens me to think of you in so much pain. Your loss continues to wash over me like a wave.

While it is true I never really knew Cooper, I’d like to think I knew and will continue to know, the parents responsible for raising and loving him so completely.

I am so, so very sorry for your loss. Crushed.
If there is anything I can do to help ease your pain, to lend a hand, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thinking of you, Suzanne and brother Cole.
