Van Schie, Cornelius Hendrikus 'Cor'

Cor passed away peacefully at Lee Manor Nursing Home in Owen Sound on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the age of 83.

Born in the Netherlands on June 30, 1938, he was a son of the late Gerardus and Gertrudes (nee Zuinder) Van Schie.

Cor was the beloved husband of more than 60 years to Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (nee Nan) Van Schie of Meaford.

He was the father of Sandra Postings (Dion) and Brian Van Schie (Julie).

Cor was the proud grandfather of Joshua Postings (Alexandra La Sala) and Jessica Tangen (Donavan).

The Catholic Church was very important to Cor and he was a very devoted parishioner. He was a proud and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. For many years Cor ran his own carpentry business, ‘Cor’s Renovations’; he took great pride in his work. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer advice to anyone in need.

A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Meaford on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11 o’clock with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery.

    My most sincere condolences to Betty and family at this time of Cor’s passing. Cor was a worker! He was very active with the Owen Sound Knights of Columbus and he encouraged the Meaford members to be active in many works of charity. Cor will be missed but never forgotten! RIP Cor!
