Burness, David Lloyd
May 12th, 1935 - January 4, 2026
David Lloyd Burness passed peacefully on January 4, 2026 in Meaford, Ontario; he was in his 91st year.

Dave will be remembered for his steadfast approach to life! His longevity of 90+ years can be attributed to his unwavering dedication to family and community, a well-balanced diet, exercise (golf!), the great outdoors and a good cold Creemore.
Beloved husband of Helen Burness, caring father, grandfather and great grandfather to Lynn and Wendy (Carl), Branden, Siena, Danielle and Zander respectively.
He will be greatly missed for his wisdom on all subjects far and wide and his sense of humour that was always present as an undercurrent to his seriousness. He will also be missed for his generosity toward the Brookside condo community where he and Helen lived.
As Dave wished, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in his honour in Spring 2026 in Meaford.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

I am so sorry to hear this news, just had a friend tell me. He will be missed as a friend. One of my very first customers when I moved to Meaford and opened up a maintance company 35 years ago. Remained with me till his death. We designed and Dave did the engineering with the TSSA and got a variance from the them and saved the Townhouses about a $6000. fee for doing it. I will miss him walking by my house and stopping for a chat as well. Heaven got a good man in Dave.
