Kimmerly, Diane Retta

Diane (nee Loucks) Kimmerly passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at the Meaford Hospital surrounded by her two loving children and their spouses.

Born in Toronto February 22, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Loucks.

She will be truly missed by her entire family, especially by her children Bruce Kimmerly (Elissa) and Nancy Miller (Dan) and by her siblings; Bill Loucks (Cheryl), Karen Fox (Wayne), and Cathy Doherty-Mulder, as well as her grandchildren Alexis and Kendra Miller.

Diane had a zest for life that she shared with everyone she met—she was truly a force for happiness in her later years, reminding us all that blue skies are ahead. Her passion for the Meaford Hall and Georgian Theatre Festival went unrivaled, just like her lemon loaf and brownies with mint icing. She was a local bartending legend at the Community Centre and will be fondly remembered by many.

Diane’s family would really like to thank the entire nursing staff at the Meaford Hospital for their kindness and support, as well as the doctors who spent time with Diane and her family.

A Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at the Meaford Hall on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 12 until 3 p.m.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Dear Nancy , Bruce and families.
    Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
I have many fond memories of Diane,
especially all the fun on Sundays throughout
    the summers at the cottage.
To me, the word ‘vivacious’ and Diane are synonyamous.
    Thinking of you.
    Love,

My sincere sympathy to Diane’s family. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Diane was like a breath of fresh air and always with a smile or fun comment to share.
At one time Diane worked on Saturdays at my office as receptionist and definitely had a unique and positive way of greeting all who came through the door!
I will miss seeing her about town.

My deepest condolences to the family. I met Diane years ago when she used to dog sit for my neighbour. She was always so positive about everything & I envied her for her peacefulness. I met her downtown one day & began a conversation, she interrupted me to tell me that she was sorry but she didn’t know me, I was taken back by her response but she then said sorry but I now have dementia. Whenever we met again, we only spoke of how beautiful the day was. She found beauty in everything & left us all with that knowledge of life. Diane will not be forgotten!!
