Hayward, Dianne May Frances
Dianne Hayward passed peacefully at her home in Orangeville surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the age of 79.

Born in Toronto on October 15, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Edna (nee Milne) Grieve.
Dianne married the love of her life and best friend, Paul Hayward, on July 18, 1964.
She was the loving, kind hearted and patient mother of Michael Hayward, Christine Murray and Chris, Scott Hayward and Johanna, and Theresa Hooper and Brian.
Dianne was the very proud Grandma of Tatyana, Mik, Griffin, Isabella, Olivia, Dallas, Clayton, Brandon, Lauren, Meganne, Matthew, Jack, Emma, Melissa and Carson.
She will be missed by her loving sister Nancy McLinden (Joe), sister-in-law Carol Egan (Paul), brothers-in-law John Hayward (Anne) and Peter Hayward (Miriam). She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Dianne truly enjoyed life and loved to spend time with her family and friends. When at all possible, she preferred to be near the water. Dianne loved her time spent at the cottage entertaining and relaxing with a martini. She and Paul travelled the world as often and as far and wide as they could. A few of her favourite pastimes were reading, playing cards and of course shopping. Dianne worked extremely hard over the years raising her four children while helping with the family store fixture business. She was very generous with her time and would happily accept an invitation to ‘Grandparent’ whenever the opportunity presented itself. Her beautiful smile expressed her joy and how much she treasured her time together with her family. Dianne loved to dance with Paul to the Bobby Vinton song, My Special Angel, she will always be our ‘special angel sent from up above ~ watching over us for eternity’.
A private funeral mass will be conducted at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Orangeville. Dianne’s family will receive friends for a public celebration of her life in the near future when the Covid-19 restrictions have eased and it is safe for family and friends to gather.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to St. Michael’s Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Dear Paul & family, Nancy and Joe,
It is with broken hearts that we offer you all our deepest and sincerest sympathies. Your beautiful testimonial is a lovely tribute to a lovely person and a life well lived. We will forever remember “Lady Di” for her warmth, graciousness and of course her sense of humour. We were always comfortable in her company. To us she was more ‘sister’ than ‘ sister-in- law’ and we will sorely miss her.
Love, John Anne and family

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Aunt Dianne and want to offer you all our condolences. We are keeping you in our thoughts and hearts during this difficult time and may the many memories of better times help bring you all comfort. I will forever remember Aunt Dianne’s infectious laugh, her sense of humour and her kindness. I will treasure all the memories of spending time at the house in Orangeville for pig roasts and family gatherings, the large family trips to Canada’s Wonderland (our family’s Wally World), or the time spent together during the holidays skating at Nathan Phillips Square. Rest easy, Aunt Dianne. You will be missed.
Much love – Tara & Perry

Thanks to her excellent tutoring it was mission accomplished. I have many happy memories of working for, and with, your family. She always seemed happiest with chaos around.
