Posluns, Donald Stephen

Donald was a successful academic garnering numerous degrees at the Masters and PhD levels from various North American Universities.

Donald, a lawyer by profession, was a principled advocate by nature. Throughout his career, he was deeply committed to standing up for the rights of others, approaching every challenge with intelligence, analytical insight and an unwavering sense of fairness.

Beyond his professional accomplishments Donald was a man of many passions.  He had a deep appreciation of family history and took great joy in understanding and preserving the stories that connected generations. His passions varied from farming to woodworking and crafting intricate pieces of furniture, to competitive sailing, skiing and travelling by train.

In addition to his many academic, professional and personal passions, Donald’s greatest love in life was the family he raised with his beloved wife Lynda, and their sons Mark and TJ (Thomas Jacob) and grandson Parker. Donald also maintained lifelong friendships and enjoyed many travels with Lynda visiting friends and family near and abroad. He was an engaging conversationist and often told stores of the love he held for his family growing up: his parents Sam and Rebecca Posluns; his brothers Avram and Michael who predeceased him, and his beloved sister Susan. Donald treasured spending time with his family and was always interested in the small details of the lives of those close to him.

Donald will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of curiosity, love and respect will be carried on through his family. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

Family gathered for interment at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park Cemetery in Toronto on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
