Reekie, Eric William

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Eric’s sudden and peaceful passing on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at his home in Clarksburg at the age of 68.

Born in Meaford on August 20, 1957, he was the youngest son of the late Harvey and Ruth Reekie.

Proud father of Derek (Margriet), Dana, Rebecca and Alicia (Brady Record), and the dear grandfather of Hanna, Charlotte, Dehlia, Jackson, Lennon, Kessel and Annie.

Eric will be missed by his beloved wife and soulmate, Morag Stafford.

He was the much-loved brother of Dr. Kathleen White-Williams, Harold (Linda) Reekie and Harvie (Jill) Reekie.

Eric was predeceased by his mother; Edna Veldora ‘Ruth’ Parks, his father; Harvey Alexander Reekie and his brother Douglas (Linda) Reekie. He is survived by his step-mother Katherine Reekie.

Eric is lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.  He will be sorely missed by his naptime buddy Sheldon.

Eric’s big loves were his family, farming and the time spent at the Rock Lake Hunt Camp. His happy place was definitely on the seat of a tractor. He loved spending time outdoors tinkering around with old machinery. Eric spent over 40 years at Blue Mountain Resort as an equipment operator and groomer.

A Celebration of Eric’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 14th, 2026 from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Beaver Valley Community Centre.  Tributes will be shared at 2 o’clock.

    Eric, You will be missed.
Worked with Eric over the years at Blue and will always remember when in the middle of a job you would idle down the backhoe, reach into your chest pocket, fish out a cigarette, and begin a conversation about politics, food, the hunt camp, travelling to Scotland with Morag or reminiscing about Jackie Gleason in a Burt Reynolds movie, which usually left him in an uncontrollable state of laughter.
Always entertaining to say the least
    Gone too soon.
Our deepest sympathies to all that loved and cherished Eric.
