Fisher, Faye Lorraine

Faye Fisher passed away peacefully at her home in Meaford on Monday, November 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 62.

She was the loving wife of Steve Fisher, and loving mother of Adam Parkin (Sarah), Jenna Robinson (Jamie), Melissa Fisher (Curtis) and Megan Fisher (Brett). Her world was completed with her grandchildren Lillian, Charlotte, Ainsley, Nash, Zoey & Myles.

She will be fondly remembered by her siblings Myrna White (Peter), Kaylene Wilkins (Steve) and Randy Breadner (Kim).  Daughter-in-law of Norma Fisher and the late Edwin Fisher and sister-in-law to Nancy (Glenn) and the late Paul Fisher. She was a very special aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

She began a long and fulfilling career in Nursing at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre and then continued for the next 30+ years at Meaford General Hospital until her well deserved Retirement. She will be missed by her many friends, colleagues and fellow nurses. Faye loved to volunteer with the Meaford Kinettes along with many other community organizations throughout her very busy service life.

She can always be remembered as that hockey, soccer and dance mom that was always behind the wheel of the car to every game and event. Her home was always open and welcome to all!  She spent her retirement years enjoying life on Georgian Bay at the most beloved Family Cottage where she spent all her time making wonderful memories with her Children, Grandchildren, Friends, Family and everyone else who happened to drop by.  She will always be remembered enjoying that last bit of Sunset and humming a tune.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre on Friday, November 24th from 2 until 5 p.m., with tributes at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Faye’s wonderful life with her family.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation, GBCS Backpacks for Learning program (CHEQUES ONLY PAYABLE TO GBCS), Meaford Food Bank and Outreach or the Simply Unique School Pizza Fund would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9.

Steve, Adam, Jenna, Melissa and Meg and families. Our hearts are filled with sorrow for you. Faye was a brave fighter of a terrible disease and she fought with grace and fortitude. She leaves a legacy for her family, especially the grandchildren of how to make the most of life and create “the best of times”. The beautiful granddaughters will always cherish the wonderful memories made with their precious Gramma, Faye and with Grampa Steve, who certainly made the most of every moment with them and the boys. The community of family and friends will feel your great loss also. At the same time, those who knew and loved Faye, I am sure will feel blessed for having her as part of their life. Our sincere condolences to all of Faye’s family and friends.

We were so saddened to hear about Faye, she had been such a fighter. My family has many memories of Faye and family. Faye was such a supportive Mum when Adam was in my class. Later we coached soccer together and it was a pleasure as Faye was fun, super organized, no nonsense and caring.

Faye was so proud of her children and her grandchildren. She was a strong community member who will be missed.

I sit here tonight staring at my Christmas tree seeing the beauty, peace and what usually is happiness but tonight I can’t help but feel sadness thinking how things are changing in your family. I remember how each year Faye would get all excited about decorating her house. Steve would be watching all the Hallmark specials and how this year it will be different. My mom and I have known Faye for well over 40 years when they started working together down at the Meaford Nursing Home. I would stay overnight, everynight babysitting Adam and Jenna.
Faye was there for us when my dad died. I would later work with her for many years at Meaford hospital.
Faye has always been about family, friends, happiness, love and creating great memories. She has done a wonderful job in the short time she has been given. May these memories bring you comfort, may you feel her love and strength. Our sincere condolences.
