Rows, Gail Ann

Gail Rows of Meaford passed away at Victoria Hospital in London on Friday, January 24, 2025 in her 77th year following some health challenges.

Born in Toronto on October 20, 1948, Gail was a daughter of the late Douglas and Margery (nee Rowlands) Halliday.  She was predeceased by her stepfather Ken Marriott.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Glen Elwood Rows on August 15, 2010.

Gail was the loving and supportive mother of Greg Rows (Andrea Stoddart) and Geoff Rows (Janet).  She was the proud Grandma of Kendra and Emily.

Gail was the dear sister of Lynn Hall (late Brent), Lori Marriott (Ray Wallace), Sandy Dike, and Tom Marriott (Laurie).  She will be remembered fondly by her nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was always finding ways to help others.  She was a life long learner and wasn’t scared to tackle any new job or hobby.  Gail will be remembered as an extremely hard worker and a great listener. She was a nurse at the Meaford General Hospital, assisted Glen with the Farm Equipment family business, receptionist at a chiropractic office, Tim Hortons, and in the kitchen at the Military Base.  She enjoyed knitting and reading in her free time.  Gail loved spending time with her family and with her church family.  She always looked forward to singing in the choir at St. George’s Anglican Church in Clarksburg.

A funeral service celebrating Gail’s life will be conducted at 11 o’clock on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at St. George’s Anglican Church in Clarksburg.  Family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service for refreshments and sharing memories of Gail.  A private service of committal and interment will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

    Dear family of Gail.
Paul and I had great admiration and affection for beautiful Gail. We are sorry for your loss.
    Gail was our angel.
Gail helped my husband to find pain management for his back. She frequently followed up to see how he was doing.
I remember Gail preparing supper for St. George’s children after she had worked a long shift.
My St. George’s name tag bears sweet stickers which Gail’s granddaughter applied when she was a wee girl.
    Lots of beautiful memories.
    Love, Gwyneth and Paul Green

Gail was always a hard working mentor when I worked at Tim Hortons. She was incredibly nice, and thorough with teaching me things. When I moved jobs, she would come in and buy coffee and creamer, and we would always talk for a bit afterward. I truly wish I got to know her better, and I am so sorry to her friends and family for their loss.
