Snyder, Gertrud 'Trudy'
Trudy passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in her 94th year.
Born in Marsden, Saskatchewan on September 24, 1930, Trudy was a daughter of the late Max Ludwig and Dora (nee Moller) Witt.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry Snyder.
Trudy was survived by her children; Ken (Janice), Wayne (Jodi), Linda (Kevin) and Ron (Annette). She is the loved grandmother of Jordan (Christine), Jeremy (Yu-Ju), Sean (Delia), Nathan (Amanda), Melissa, Terra, Dee (Peter), Ivy (Clément), Eric (Jessica), Claire (Jackson) and Luke and great-grandmother of Arabella, Luc, Liam, Bailey, Logan, Jake, Julian, Rio, Malikai, Remy and Kayla.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Florence, Arlene, Hans, Delf and John. Trudy is survived by her sisters Helen and Diane, and sister-in-law Theresa and will be fondly remembered by their families.
Trudy left Marsden and relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba to study nursing. Upon marriage she moved to Ontario where she and Harry farmed and Trudy pursued her nursing career and raising their family.
Trudy later embarked on a very successful career in real estate and was a keen volunteer in community activities including the local fall fairs, Kinettes and being a scout leader. She loved dancing!
A celebration of Trudy’s life will be take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in the Galleries at the Meaford Hall from 1 until 5 p.m., with a service and tributes beginning at 2 o’clock.
