Black, Gordon McGregor "Gregor, Greg"
On the morning of July 21, 2026, the love of Helen Kay’s life, her soul mate, companion and friend of 52 years, G. McGregor Black (Gregor, Greg) peacefully slipped the surly bonds of earth at home as he wished.
A gentle, modest man he found great joy in his simple country life. The farm that he and Helen lovingly restored became their beautiful, peaceful sanctuary. Here, he demonstrated his many talents; horseman, tradesman, builder, gardener, woodsman and creator.
Patient and compassionate, he loved his animals especially his horses. “We have the best team on the 6th line”, he’d brag.
His great passion was restoring horse drawn vehicles to their former glory, a pride and passion we shared.
He was predeceased by his mother Maggie, his sister Gwen and his father Addison.
He will be forever missed by all who knew him and appreciated his quiet depth. Helen is so very grateful for such a wonderful life, well lived, together.

Cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements.

Helen, so very sorry for the loss of your special “Gregor”. You created an idyllic life together in Bognor. Luckily I was so fortunate to spent some special moments with you, Gregor and your farm. One especially, the sleigh ride Jon organized and your hospitality afterward.
A living memory, the Meaford Bread Wagon donated by Gregor and still is on display at Meaford Hall.

Growing up in Clarksburg I always remember Greg having horses.
I remember him coming into Grandpa’s store always a big smile. Dad and Greg would always have a laugh.

Dear Helen -.I did not know Gregor very well but I know you from Spanish classes and as a teacher of my daughter. Maggie and Gwen were close friends at one time. I am so saddened for you by this loss of a partner and friend. The emptiness will be profound. Hold your memories and images close.
