Lowe, Henry Allan 'Al'
Al Lowe of Meaford passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, a day after celebrating his 90th birthday.

Born in St. Vincent Township on September 26, 1932, he was a son of the late Alfred and Clementine (nee Free) Lowe.
Al was the much-loved husband and best friend of Marg (nee Muxlow) Lowe of Meaford.
He was the adored father of Patricia Marshall (Bob), Sandra Jackson, Janet Dickerson (Lee), and Barbara Lowe, and was predeceased by his son Geoff Lowe.
Al was the proud and caring Grandpa of thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his brother-in-law Doug Muxlow (Sandra) and was predeceased by his brother John Lowe (late Velma), his sister Agnes Arthur (late Fred), and his brothers-in-law David Muxlow, and Ken Muxlow (late Linda). He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and their families.
Al had strong morals, values and work ethic, he was clever, wise, humorous, creative and generous. He helped to build bridges throughout Ontario as a heavy-duty mechanic and took his job seriously. Al worked extremely hard to provide for his family, and when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time in the garden and travelling.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Meaford United Church on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11 o’clock with a reception following in the fellowship hall. A private service of interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

Marg and family: Al was a genuine, good man. I remember him most for his connection with MacLellan Construction and visiting a lot of their bridge building sites. It was at the Groundhog River (near Foleyet) that he cooked green fried tomatoes for us ! You all will miss him. Your memories will help you through this sad time.

My heart and condolences goes out to Marg and the family. Although I didn’t know Al personally I feel like I knew him vicariously through Marg and the girls. It’s not easy losing loved ones but I’m so pleased he got his goal of making it to his 90th. What a milestone and he is to be commended on his determination. <3 May the Angels carry him safely home. <3

Dear Marg and family
It was an honour to be a part of Al’s circle of care. That man never complained and as someone else noted he always had a twinkle in his eyes! He looked forward to his 90 th birthday with great glee! I’m glad he marked that day. He is I know already missed by you and your girls and the grands but this nurse will miss the visits with Al. ( and of course you too Marg❣️) May you feel the Lord’s comfort in the days, weeks and months to come. ❣️

I’m sad to hear that Al has passed away. He was a great man. I worked with him for years at Arnott construction: he was such a great worker, with some great “sayings” He told me once that I would never back over anything as long as I was going ahead. Lots of laughs with Al. He will be truly missed. Helen and I send our deepest condolences to Marg and family.

Condolences to the family. While Al worked for Arnott Construction, we had the pleasure of his visits often. I remember all the lovely lily plants he would share! They still continue to grow annually…. they will always be a fond reminder of Al. Terry & I send our sincere sympathies to the family.
