Weldrick, Isabelle Catherine Grace
Isabelle Catherine Grace (nee Otter) Weldrick, aged 83 years in Meaford, Ontario left us peacefully on Monday March 16, 2026.

Predeceased by her husband Clifford Weldrick and daughter Sherry-Lynne, Isabelle is survived by her two children: Tony (Chris) Weldrick and Bonnie (Merv) Allan, all of Meaford.
Grandma Issy will be sadly missed by her four grandchildren: Jesse Allan, Tyler Allan, Rachel Weldrick (John Dowbiggin), Megan (Scott) Lewis and great-granddaughter Clara Lewis.
Isabelle was the oldest of six siblings, and is survived by two brothers, Paul (Pat) Miller, and Bill Miller, two sisters, Nancy (Delbert) Harvey, and Judy (Rob) Proctor, and was predeceased by a brother Charlie (Wanda) Miller. Isabelle will also be missed by her extended family, Dennis and Marge Williams, Doreen McGregor and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Born in Durham, Ontario on June 10, 1942, Isabelle lost their mother at a very young age, Issy took on the role of big sister and almost mother figure to all her younger brothers and sisters, bringing them to Meaford to her family home to help give them their start in life. The Weldrick home was never just their family of four but was instead a very busy home with aunts and uncles being raised like siblings to Bonnie and Tony.
There was no end to the love and generosity that Issy and Cliff extended to family and even friends who needed a hot meal, a bed for a night or a home for months or even years.
Isabelle worked her entire life from an early age of 15 at Stanley Knight’s Hardwood flooring factory in Meaford, other factories such as Mitchell’s Apple Juice in Thornbury, Globe Mills, Amerock and ultimately her final 20 plus years at the Meaford Nursing Home Long Term Care Facility, where her compassionate nature was best utilized as she took great care of her residents.
Well known for her hearty home cooking and ability to stretch a meal to feed anyone who came to the door, Isabelle’s recipes for her potato salad, coffee cake and chocolate zucchini bread are still being asked for and shared to dozens of home cooks of the next generations.
Summer holidays were often spent camping with their kids and friends, in tents and a homemade tent trailer. In later years Issy and Cliff loved to take long road trips out west in their camper van; country music playing while Isabelle filmed the trips on her little movie camera.
Though there was not a lot of extra money in the early years, nobody ever noticed, as Issy made every little holiday a completely special occasion. Boiling eggs in onion skins for Easter, amazing turkey dinners at Christmas, and we still joke about the year she dyed the mashed potatoes green for St. Patrick’s Day. We were ALL happy and felt RICH in every way.
Though the family lived in different houses before and after, Issy would forever remember our old brick home on Highway 26 on Bayview Hill outside Meaford as the happiest of times, and that that was always our REAL home.
Issy was a very private person outside the home, and wasn’t much of a joiner, but if you came to her door, she treated you like royalty. A trait that is remembered by so many of her family and friends.
Because of her private nature, a small family celebration of life will take place later this year when distant family members are able to travel to Meaford.
The family has kindly requested that, if desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Meaford Long Term Care Auxiliary (Cheques Only) be made in her name and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
OR, equally meaningful, in lieu of flowers or donations, the family has suggested that perhaps people could just share a nice meal with their own families (or friends) and treat each other with the same love and respect as Isabelle would have done.

Dear Tony, Bonnie, Nancy and Judy
It made me smile when Isabelle referred to your Bayview Hill home as the best !
I recall our families going back and forth over that period of time, since the Kerr farm was just below your place.
Isabelle and Cliff often attended legion dances with my folks (Ken & Edna Kerr)
Your ages were very similar to us 4 Kerr Kids and with living in the country it was great to get together to play and visit with your family.
My thoughts are with you in the loss of your mom and sister .
Treasure your memories.
Hugs to each of you.
Sincerely Heather Knight (Kerr) Mississauga
