Brown, James Orville 'Orv'

Orville Brown passed away peacefully with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford, ON on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the age of 81.

Born in Meaford on February 25, 1940, he was a son of the late Edward and Marjorie (nee Campbell) Brown.

Orville was the much loved husband of almost 60 years of Donna (nee Elliott) Brown of Meaford.

He was the patient and kind father of Steven Brown (Carolyn) and Shelley Boyd (Michelle).

Orville was the very proud grandpa of Kelsey Brown (Nevin), Karly Brown, Griffin Boyd and Collyer Boyd.

He will be missed dearly by his sister Kay Freeborn (Dennis), and was predeceased by his brothers Keith Brown, Bill Brown, and his sister Doris Wells (late Bill).

Orville will be remembered fondly by his mother-in-law Eva Elliott (late Al), and was predeceased by his sister-in-laws Brenda Duncan and Barb Elliott.  Orville will also be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Orville was employed at Don Bumstead Motors for 38 years and then with the Town of Meaford until his retirement. He enjoyed anything that involved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, biking, skiing and even more when he was joined by family. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, never missing their many sporting activities. He will be missed on the streets of Meaford doing his daily neighbourhood, slow drive-bys. One of Orville’s favourite sayings was ‘What’s your hurry?’

A private family graveside service will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
