Hudson, Jean Mae

Born in Meaford on May 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Carl and Leah (nee Preston) Wilson, Jean passed away unexpectedly in Meaford on Sunday July 19, 2020 at the age of 82.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Harold “Harry” Hudson, of Meaford.

Jean and Harold were devoted members of Olivet Baptist Church in Meaford.  Jean will be recalled as the very capable administrative assistant with Noble Insurance for many years and was an avid gardener as her home would attest.  She enjoyed judging floral arrangements at the local Fall Fair for several years.

She was the loved sister of Earl and his wife Sandie Wilson and Harold Wilson of Meaford and remembered as a dear sister-in-law to Kenneth Hudson (late Shirley) and the late Gerald Hudson and his wife Laura Hudson all of Meaford.

Jean was a very special aunt and great aunt to Darlene and Keith Bumstead of Meaford and their children Pam (Shawn) Adams and children Riley, Dylan and Connor and Stephanie Bumstead; Bill and Carol Hudson of Meaford and their children Hayden and Natshia;  Robert ‘Bob’ Wilson and his wife Kathleen of Calgary and their children Jamie and Kaelea;  and Chris Galliher and his wife Karen and their daughter Charlize all of Calgary.  She was predeceased also by a niece, Lois Both (Wilson).

A private family funeral service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford followed by a service of committal and interment at Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and if so desired, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home to whom arrangements are entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

    Dear Harry

So sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. It was a joy to work with Jean for many years at Noble insurance. I was so pleased to be able to help her overcome a problem she had with one finger, by altering the keyboard of her electric typewriter and computer, so she could continue at her record typing speed.
My condolences and best wishes to you Harry and your families, especially in these troubled times.

    Gerry
