Gonder, Jean Winnifred

Jean Winnifred Gonder (nee Davison) passed away peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the age of 92.

Born in Meaford on January 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Melville and Bessie (nee Bailey) Davison.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Orrin Gonder (April 2, 2001).

Jean was the loving mother of Richard & Cindy Gonder of Cumberland Beach and Jodie, David Ford of Shallow Lake and was predeceased by her son Randolph ‘Randy’ Gonder (late Heather).

Jean will be the fondly remembered Nana of Tallilee, Christopher, Jessica, Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Robyn, Margaret, and Jackie and Great-Nana to Andraya, Orrin, Leah, Tyler, Harley, Dusty, Ashley, Zoey, Emma, Jacob, Evan, Luke, and Emily.

Jean was predeceased by her brothers Robert, Donald and Bazil. She is the dear sister-in-law of Marjorie Davison of Meaford and Sylvia Davison of Collingwood and will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

With love and a lifetime of wonderful memories with you Mom, we will cherish our mother and Nana as wide as the Universe forever.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Church of Christ, Meaford on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11 o’clock with visiting the hour prior.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
