Major, Joan Roberta
Joan Major passed away in Barrie on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the age of 92.
Joan Roberta Major – born in Southampton, Nova Scotia, July 25th, 1932, was the daughter of the late Lessie and Hugh Alexander McLellan (nee Henwood). Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband “Robbie” Robin Major.
Joan was the cherished mother of Fred, Brian (Linda), Ron (Pauline) and Barb (Dale) and predeceased by David (Linda); much-loved grandmother to Veronica, Lisa, Bradley, Zach and Amy; and great grandmother to Madalyn, Isla, Elaine and Tyson.
Joan will be missed by the staff and residents at Roberta Place in Barrie and especially by her committed care provider Lyn. Joan will also be missed by her many friends and neighbours in her beloved community of Meaford, a place she and her late husband Robin Major called home for many happy decades.
Joan was blessed with a witty sense of humour and tireless energy through to her last days. She will be sorely missed but not forgotten.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date.
