MacDougall, Joanne Marie

Joanne passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital on May 29th, 2022 at the age of 79.

She was born in Markdale on December 23rd, 1942, a daughter of the late Stanley and Doris Wood.   She leaves behind her children; Geoffrey Parr, Tracey Nellis, Stephen Parr, and was predeceased by her son Stanley Parr.  She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In her younger days she helped out on the farm and with anything that needed done. Joanne was a very hard worker; she worked in Real Estate and Insurance, as a caretaker at Georgian Shores in Craigleith, a server at the Rock Dell Steakhouse and Tavern, and at the Collingwood Post Office as a contractor then became an employee in 2004 and retired in 2013. She was a dedicated worker and really loved her job at the post office.  She treated all of her customers as she would like to be treated. Her health started to fail so she found hobbies that she enjoyed to pass the time. Joanne would enjoy a glass of wine with friends who would drop in to see her.  She played Bingo in Collingwood and loved her visits to Casino Rama.  She enjoyed the shows and entertainment, especially years ago when the tickets weren’t as expensive.  She had a different way of showing her love for her family and friends but she loved them very much. Joanne’s family thanks all of the doctors and hospital staff for their care and compassion over the years. She will be missed by her loved ones. Please take a few moments to remember and honour Joanne with a glass or wine or a beverage.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
