Very fond memories of Uncle John (Great Uncle). He was a fellow that I got to know best, way too late. We deer hunted together for a few years, among other things. During those commutes to and from the bush at Walter and Isabelle’s farm near Walters Falls, there was always lots of stories to be heard. He certainly lived life. When informed of his passing, sad as it was to hear it, reminiscing about the time spent together brought a grin and smiles, more than anything.
Rest easy John, you’ve earned it.

    To John’s Family,
He was a remarkable man – his thinking was clear, his faith in the Lord was strong and very much alive. Even though John and Eleanor left Shiloh Church physically quite a while ago now, they remained in our hearts.
I remember him teaching Driver’s Ed at Elmira High School – always such a gentleman. And of course going to school with Dennis and Vern especially.
It was incredible in moving to Bruce County, your Mom and Dad were at the same country church I was – a small world!
Yes, he was 102, but you will all still really miss him, even in the knowing he is with Jesus. Our sympathy and prayers are with you all. Sincerely, Bob and Susan Cook (Cooper)

We are grateful that we had the chance to get to know John and Eleanor at Shiloh. What a lovely couple!
He gave us some books before moving away from the area: Sportsmanlike Driving, The Duck Hunter’s Handbook, and many more Hunting books! He was always a pleasure to chat with in person and on the phone. A very kind and gracious man.
