Hudson, Kenneth Ellwood 'Ken'

Ken Hudson passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the age of 90.

Born in Collingwood Township on March 23, 1931, he was a son of the late Guy and Florence (nee Crosskill) Hudson.

Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (nee Watts) Hudson, in 2011.

He was the loving father of Bill Hudson and Carol Ann of Meaford and Darlene Bumstead and Keith, also of Meaford.

Ken was the proud Grampa of Pam Adams (Shawn), Stephanie Bumstead (Corey), Natashia Hudson, and Hayden Hudson, and Great Grampa of Riley McFadden, Dylan McFadden and Connor Adams.

He was predeceased by his brothers Gerald Hudson (late Laura) and Harold Hudson (late Jean), and will be remembered fondly by the Carleton, Watts, Crosskill and Gibbons families.

Long time resident and the self proclaimed ‘Mayor’ of Georgian Beach, Ken will be missed terribly by his friends at the beach. He drove a steel truck for many years and thoroughly enjoyed his time on the road and the many friendships he made along the way.

Ken’s family will receive friends for a public visitation at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Masks are mandatory and we ask that all Covid-19 rules and restrictions are respected to keep everybody safe. A private service of committal and interment will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

What a great neighbour for many, many years. Always had time for a chat when out and about in the neighbourhood, with his furry best friend and companion along for the ride.
Our condolences to the extended Hudson family. RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. He was such a sweet neighbour, cruising to the mailbox on his scooter, always stopping for a chat with his little furry buddy in tow. He kept an eye on the beach and certainly was the unofficial Mayor. My memories of the beach road will always include him; he’s known me my entire life. I am going to really miss Ken. Hugs to the family.

Ken was a loving and caring Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He always had time to talk with us and listen to our problems. He treated us with respect and love. Growing up my family lived with Ken and Shirley a couple of times. We were welcomed and well looked after. We spent many summers in Meaford; Ken would find time to take us to local attractions and water skiing.

We’ll surely miss our amazing Uncle Ken’s gentle personality, smile and welcoming hugs!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill, Darlene and their families at this difficult time.
