Coburn, Kenneth Gordon

Ken passed away peacefully at his home in Meaford, just as he wished, with his children by his side on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at the age of 96.

Ken was born in Cookstown on May 17, 1925.

His beloved wife of 67 years, Jacqueline Grace, predeceased him on March 22, 2012.

Ken was the much loved father of David and Christine, Sandra, Bonnie and Jay, Rick and Maureen, Kathryn and Alan, and many adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ken was honest, hardworking, a blue collar man his entire life.  He was a man of few words, who would give you the shirt off his back.  He preferred a quiet rural life; spending time with ‘his girls’ (chickens) and pampering ‘Ivan the Terrible’, his ‘Best Damn Cat’.

‘Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.’

A private family graveside service of interment will be conducted in Alliston Union Cemetery at a later date.

As your expression of sympathy, and in honour of Ken’s love of animals, a memorial donation to a charity of your choice to assist animals in need of love and support, would be appreciated and may be made directly to the charity or through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Big hugs to you Sandra and all the family . I so enjoyed your dad (Tommy) when he came into Valu Mart ……we had great conversations and he got such a kick out of it when I gave him a yoyo. After I retired I thought of him often. He was a great guy

Rosalind, Ken fell and suffered a head injury and last week we were talking about places in Meaford that he might remember and he said “do you remember that nice girl at the grocery store, Ros!! and he smiled. We never know the impact of small kindnesses. Thank you for remembering him.

My sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family Sandra. Your dad always amazed me with his energy and interests especially with his chickens and of course his cat. May you cherish all the beautiful memories of which I am sure you have so many.
