Morris, Kimberley Anne 'Kim'

Kim passed away peacefully with family by her side at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the age of 60.

Born in Meaford on January 26, 1964, Kim was a daughter of the late Arthur and Kay (nee Latour) Dubè.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters Amberley Gardhouse (Sean) of Owen Sound and Bellamy DeLeeuw (Jeremy) of Hamilton, and by their father Myles Morris (Natalie) and his mother Joan Morris.

Kim was the absolutely adored grandma “Gran” of Indigo and Teddy Gardhouse.

She was the dear sister of Carol, Sharon (Morris), Jim (Linda), Bob (Laurie), Al, Nancy, Kathy (Kim), Tim, and Boni.  Kim was predeceased by her brothers-in law Barry Reid, Remi Blais, and Larry Bobyk, sister-in-law Betty Dubè, and nephew Marcel Dubè. She will be remembered fondly by 17 nieces and nephews and their families.

Kim cherished her friendships and will be missed by many, including her dear friends Beth Clarke and Tricia Cosgrove.

Born and raised in Meaford, Ontario, Kim was the youngest of ten children and beloved “baby” of the family. She attributed many of her strengths to her loving parents and counted her siblings as some of her closest friends. Kim grew to be an independent, strong-willed and fiercely determined woman. When she put her mind to something, you can bet that she would accomplish her goal, such as completing renovations around her home, learning to ride a motorcycle in her 40’s, or becoming a volunteer auxiliary police officer!

Kim was known for her megawatt smile, which revealed her bright and sociable personality. These traits served her well as the owner of a coffee shop, which she named “The Breakfast Club”, and for over 15 years in her career as bus driver and driver trainer, where she had a profound impact on the lives of countless children. Above all, Kim was brave in so many aspects of her life. She gave up the safety and routine of her career in Owen Sound to pursue her dream job as transit operator in Guelph. This role allowed her to achieve her passions of fostering connections, helping those in need and serving her community, and she deeply cherished the many memories and friends she made at Guelph Transit.

Kim was always up for an adventure, big or small, and appreciated the simple pleasures in life: a Timmies double-double, sitting around a campfire, dipping her toes in any body of water, and time spent with her family and friends.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Chapman House in Owen Sound, who provided Kim with care, comfort and compassion during her final days.

Kim’s life will be celebrated on her 61st birthday, Sunday, January 26th, 2025.  Please join her family in the Galleries at the Meaford Hall from 1 until 4 p.m., with tributes being shared at 2 o’clock.
