Bryson, Kory Alec Douglas

Kory Bryson, 33 years of age, formerly of Waterloo, Ontario and more recently Meaford, Ontario, died too soon at the Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on January 1st, 2020.

Kory was born in Newmarket, the son of Shawne Bryson and Don Bryson, both of Meaford.

He was the treasured brother of Shaun-Marie Bryson, also of Meaford. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles and cousins in both Ontario and British Columbia.  Kory met many wonderful people throughout his short life whose friendship he cherished.

Kory graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Degree in Psychology.  He furthered his education at the University of Guelph, graduating with a Bachelor of Computing, Honours Programme.  He was employed at IMS in Waterloo in Software Design and Engineering.  Kory was a very active young man who enjoyed running and golf.  He was very much a gentle man and a kind and caring man who loved his family.  He had many different kinds of animal friends growing up and was particularly fond of his cat Oliver, the household ruler.

Kory had a very emotionally taxing, and physically exhausting struggle with melanoma. He endured numerous treatments in the form of surgeries, immunotherapy, chemotherapy and radiation.  Through it all he remained strong and positive that one day a cure for this unforgiving, ravaging disease would be found.  Sadly, and despite his warrior efforts to survive, he succumbed.  Our family is forever grateful for the numerous medical angels that were in and out of his life while he fought.

All are invited to join Kory’s family to celebrate his life at the Leeky Canoe in Meaford on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 4 until 7 p.m.

Thinking of all of you Shawne, Don and Shaun Marie at this very very sad time. I remember Kory as a student at GBSS, he was known to be a computer expert and willingly helped other students when needed.I remember how friendly and polite he was and he had the best smile ever.
I often saw Kory at lunchtime when he was running and I was out walking; we always had a quick chat . Kory will be missed by many and will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Although I didn’t know Kory, I heard about him from you, Shawne, over the years we worked together. We haven’t seen each other for years, but I was very saddened to read this news about Kory. I can only imagine how difficult this time has been and will be for you. My thoughts are with you.
