Allen, Lori Darlene

Lori Darlene Allen, daughter of the late Terry and Shirley (nee Foster) Jackman passed away Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 due to complications from a very recent cancer diagnosis.

Lori was the much loved wife of Bill Allen and proud and cherished mom of Kathy Allen (Adam) and Will Allen (Alex).  Special grandma to Charli, Madi, Piper, Fathom, Fisher and River.

She was the dear sister of Terry Jr. (Maxine), Denise, Tracy (Jeff), and will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families.

Lori grew up in Clarksburg and enjoyed the small community life.  She spent 25 years at the Meaford Military Base as the Health & Safety Officer and just recently retired, enjoying her much deserved time with her family.

Lori was always first to offer help to anyone in need and was often referred to as ‘Mother Hen’.  She and Bill enjoyed great times with the Wasaga Beach Cruisers, attending various car shows and taking weekend road trips in her 2004 bright yellow convertible Mustang GT.

We will celebrate Lori’s life this summer and she will spend eternity in one of her favourite places along with so many before and to come after her.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation – Breast Screening Program would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Love you girl and already missing you. We had some great times together for the last twenty years. Meeting you in Cuba of all places and and the friendship continued. Lots of great times including kayaking trips, hot tub parties and several vacations together. We have watched together how our families grew and loved ones passed. It was a great ride.

Lori was full of kindness and joy. Every time we saw her we were greeted with a big smile and an even bigger hug. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends and gushed about her grandchildren any chance she had. Lori was like an aunt to both of us and will forever be in our hearts.

Bill, I am heartbroken to hear of Lori’s passing. She was a real gem. Anyone who knew her was the better for it. My favourite memories are of us on the dance floor. Lori was a force to be reckoned with when the good tunes come on! Such good times we all had together! Sending you and family much love and comfort.
