Donville, Margaret Grace
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Grace Donville (Moniz) on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the age of 83. Cradled in the loving arms of her family, Mum slipped away just before sunrise; watching it rise with family and friends on the other side.

Born July 18, 1942, in Derbyshire, England to the late Hilda and Fred Bayley. Mum grew up alongside her only sister and favourite Scottish dancing partner, the late Christine Bayley. While living in England, Mum studied to become a dental hygienist.
In 1966, she travelled with friends by boat to Toronto, where she met and married Arthur Moniz in 1969, they welcomed daughter Christine a year later. The family moved to Bermuda in 1972 then to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in 1975, they finally settled in Meaford in 1977. Mum started out working nights at the Meaford Nursing Home in the laundry department while simultaneously training to become a Healthcare Aide. She eventually retired in 2002 after enjoying many years working at the Meaford Nursing Home.
Years after the passing of Arthur in 1989, Mum was set up on a date with Bernie Donville, whom she would later marry in 2002.
Mum loved to travel, luckily Bernie was able to do a teacher’s exchange in Australia for a year. She later travelled to Japan, California, Vancouver and all the eastern provinces of Canada as well as a couple of return visits to England. Although she loved to travel, the real highlights of her life came in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2012 when she became a grandmother four times over. Now with grandchildren, mums love for knitting, crocheting and sewing were in full swing. Clothes and blankets were made, given with love and cherished with much love.
Mum will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bernie Donville, daughter Christine Graham (Bev), grandchildren Makayla, Casey, Reis and Gabriel; stepson Stephen Moniz (Libby) and his son, Michael; stepdaughter Carole Lederer (Carl) and her children, Michael and Christopher, Bernie’s children Emily and Jenn as well as the Donville family.
A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford, family will receive friends the hour prior.

Christine, your mom was one of the first people I met when I moved to Meaford. I will never forget the love she gave so freely to me. Every time we met even in later years she always gave a hug and called me love. Caring compassionate are just a few words to describe her. My heart hurts for you, Bev and the kids.
God speed Marg xoxo

Bernie, Christine and Families. My sincere sympathies at the passing of your Dear Wife and Mother. We were always treated so well when we visited in your home. Cup of tea and cookies, and chatty visit, trying to catch up with each others families. Marg and Bernie made a lovely home together, full of music, great recipes, laughter and wisdom. When Marg became ill, Bernie was very attentive to her every need.
(I got to know Marg and Bernie through her great friend, Betty.)
My sympathies to you. Ruth Davis

I was so saddened to hear about the Aunt Marg’s passing. Some of my favorite memories are when she & Uncle Bernie came to visit us in Bakersfield. The love in which she spoke about Christine and her grandchildren made me feel like I knew them without meeting. That’s the type of person she was, alluding love and kindness. She will be miss all over the world.

We were so sorry to hear of Marg’s passing. I know she will be so missed by you Christine and Bev and all your children.
I worked the three to 11 shift at Meaford Nursing Home and Marg would come in for the night shift and I can’t remember a time that she didn’t have that beautiful smile on her face regardless of knowing she had a long shift ahead.
Her sense of humour was priceless and kept us laughing many a night!
May happy memories of her help you through the days and months ahead. God bless!!

I first met Aunt Marg when she and Uncle Bernie visited before going to Australia. She felt like a relative immediately. She was so kind to us (me, Sabrina, and my dad). We enjoyed family style meals where we all laughed so much especially with the banter between her and Uncle Bernie. I also had the pleasure of having meaningful conversations with Aunt Marg over a cup of tea. Her love for life and her family really left an impression on me. She will be missed immensely and has touched so many lives.

My condolences to Christine and all Margaret’s family.
I worked with Margaret in the former nursing home. From day one I felt her warm open attitude to me with a great sense of humor. I admired her character then and still do now thinking of her.
