Ruby certainly enjoy her love of her curling and was a great mentor to many. Doug and Ruby’s name came up often as a lot of the neighboring boys worked for them ,with lots of stories and humor. Willy&Wendy Rogers

Both Ruby and Doug were mainstays at the Meaford Curling Club and the Meaford Golf Course. Ruby’s friendly grin and the twinkle in her eye welcomed many of us to these sports.

My sincere condolences to Ruby’s family. I have many fond memories of times with her and Doug. Socializing, curling and bridge with Ruby. When our girls were young there was always a spring trip to the farm to see the lambs. Shirley Cook

We would like to pass on our condolences to Ruby”s family. Many of us third line boys (and some from the fourth) had the opportunity to work for Doug and Ruby on their sheep farm.Whether it be in lambing time or haying season there was always plenty to do, but they made it fun. Ruby would work in the field during the day, but some how would have have a delicious home cooked meal ready for us. (including special homemade desserts)
Ruby had many accomplishments in her life, but her ultimate LOVE was Doug, and now they are together again.

We send out condolences on the passing of Ruby. We always enjoyed curling with Doug and Ruby and listening to the great stories they shared of their adventures from their life together, whether farming or curling and their social life in the community. As serious as Ruby was on the curling ice, the time spent was always a good learning experience, both on and off the ice, where there was usually lots of laughter, especially off the ice – great memories, of both Doug and Ruby, not soon to be forgotten.
Thank you for those memories.
