Evans, Mary Jocelyn Murray

Jocelyn passed peacefully with her family by her side at the Meaford Hospital on Thursday January 26, 2023 at the age of 75.

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Aunt; Jocelyn was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the daughter of Mary Kelman Murray and George Law Murray. Jocelyn was the loving wife of Peter Evans for over 44 years. Beloved Mother to Gregory Evans (Caitlin) and Christopher Evans (Sarah).

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Hannah, Max, Ben, Charlie, Reese, Owen, and Abbey; all whom she loved deeply. She loved and valued her extended family and will be remembered fondly by members of the Murray, Aune, Foucault and Kennedy clans.

Jocelyn loved the communities that she was part of through her career in the investment industry and the numerous charities that she was able to be a part of, they are too numerous to list here but know that she loved and remembered all of you. She deeply loved the social aspects of all these communities and participated in building social connections right to the end in the Lora Bay community that her and Peter made home. Her life was marked with deep friendships and “having the backs” of her friends and family, especially when their circumstances needed it most.

A Celebration of Jocelyn’s Life will be hosted by the Evan’s Family at the St. George’s Golf and Country Club, 1668 Islington Ave., Etobicoke, ON M9A 3M9 on Friday, February 10th from 1:00 to 4:00PM. I just came accross this news today on Facebook. I am truly saddened by your loss Peter. It has been so very long since I had the pleasure of working with Jocelyn – but I remember her dearly. She had a unifying effect on our desk and office. Her rapport with New York on the links and back offices was unparalleled. More importantly, Jocelyn always had a supportive smile and never withheld any help she could give.
    My condolences and my prayers,
    Joe Tobin
