Socholotiuk (Lippai), Mary
Mary Socholotiuk (Lippai) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the night of December 25, 2025 in Thornbury at Errinrung Long Term Care.
Mary was born in Mistatim, Saskatchewan on January 24, 1936. She will be missed dearly by her spouse, Paul Socholotiuk of Glaslyn, Saskatchewan, who served as her caretaker for many of her final years. Mary is survived by her children, Karen Perkins and Paul Jr. Socholotiuk, and her five grandchildren, Andrew and Kate Perkins, and Julia, Erin, and Nicholas Socholotiuk.
Mary was a kind, careful woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. She will be remembered and cherished as a loving and warm wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary was a resourceful and passionate autodidact. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed research and hobbies related to health, wellness, and visual art. She was always eager to share her knowledge, and support and uplift those around her.
Mary had an excellent memory and was an engaging storyteller. She will be remembered for her fascinating stories about her rich life across vibrant places in Saskatchewan, Chicago, Tillsonburg, and Scarborough, Ontario, where she eventually settled and raised her family.
Mary taught us all about love, warmth, and dedication to family. She will be missed, always, by those who knew and loved her.
