Bridges, Myrtle Caroline 'Myrt'

Myrtle Bridges passed away peacefully at Lee Manor in Owen Sound on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born in Owen Sound on August 7, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary (nee McLean).

Myrtle was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman Bridges in 1985.

She was the cherished mother of Cecil, Timothy, Kerry ‘Eddie’, and Dale. Dear mother-in-law of Sonya and Christopher.

Myrtle was the much-loved grandmother of Robert and Katie (Mike), and great grandma of Kaylie, Charles, Greyson and Rylen.

Music was very important to Myrtle, she loved country music and liked to sing along.  She was an extremely supportive mother and was always there to lend an ear or a hand if she knew someone was in need. Myrtle was a good-hearted woman. She will be missed but never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 2 o’clock.  A service of committal and interment will follow at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery.

    My memories of Myrtle go back to living beside her, Norman and the boys in Craigleith. We always seemed to meet up at different places over the years. Our conversations and reminiscing brought smiles to our faces. She had a heart of gold. RIP

    So sorry on your loss Carrie Cecil Tim Dale your mom was a such a social person and your dad was too. I can always remember when they wanted a little girl and they just kind of adopt me. That was so nice. We had a lot of great times together I can’t remember when she made that song for you boys my four little boys. I hope you guys recorded it for sure it was awesome. They love their country music. My condolence to the whole family

    We were so very sorry to hear of Myrtle’s passing. She was a beautiful person with a generous heart and contagious laugh. We enjoyed our visits with her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends!
