Green, Nancy Patricia
1948 – 2025
It is with sadness that we announce that Nancy Green (nee Crawford) passed away peacefully at Meaford Hospital on March 25th after a prolonged struggle with lymphoma.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Green, her beloved daughter, Deanne and her family – husband, Marc Allcock, “grandest guys”, Camden and Hayden, and Pippa, too.
Nancy was raised in Etobicoke by her parents, Doug and Pat Crawford (nee Ballanger). She grew up in this bucolic community with her brothers, Mark (Nancy Sansom) and the late Bryan (Melissa Morrow). She attended Rosethorn Public School, Burnhamthorpe Collegiate, and Laurier University.
With a strong passion for music, Nancy became a teacher with the Etobicoke Board of Education and was enthusiastically involved with children’s choirs and sang with the Etobicoke Centennial Choir. She was also an avid supporter of teachers’ federations and later became the president of one.
Despite working together, Nancy and Richard really met skiing and they married in 1977. Living in Etobicoke while teaching, their winter lifestyle at the Toronto Ski Club in Collingwood led them to Georgian Bay where they acquired places in Meaford and at the foot of Blue Mountain. After retirement they settled in Thornbury.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Clarksburg Clinic and to Doctor Aboo and the Owen Sound Hospital Cancer Unit for their care and efforts over the years. Thanks also to the wonderful Med-Surg group at the Meaford Hospital whose professional, cheerful, and kind treatment made Nancy’s last few weeks as easy as possible.
As requested, there will be no funeral at this time with family and friend gatherings being considered.
In Nancy’s memory please consider attending and/or supporting live local music events or donating to school music programs or departments.

My sincere condolences to the family. I was saddened to learn that before her passing, she was burdened with such serious health issues. As a longtime member of the Beaver Valley Association for Lifelong Learning, Nancy enthusiastically supported the organization and as Treasurer carried out her duties with the utmost care and reliability. It was a pleasure to be in her company on the Executive Committee. May she rest in peace.

Nancy has been a dear friend for 2/3 of my life. There is no expiry date on some friendships and for many reasons, this is one of them. Nancy celebrated life with music, with service to others through her leadership and community involvement, and above all, with her family and friends.
Last evening, as the London Symphony played the first notes of Beethoven’s Concerto in D Major, my first thoughts were about sharing this magical evening with Nancy. How she would have loved the whole experience. May our lives be full of our favourite music for having known and loved Nancy.

I was shocked to learn that Nancy has had to endure such serious health issues which led to her passing. I remember Nancy as a kind, happy individual, with a spectacular smile.
To Dick, Deanne and family, my sincere condolences. May the happy memories you have of Nancy linger on forever!

How sorry I was to hear of Nancy’s passing. I worked with Nancy years ago at EWTA and later at ETT. I loved her sense of humour, her dedication and her tremendous work ethic.
My condolences to her family.
Sincerely,
Lois (Monahan) Soon
