Nolan McArthur, Norma

Norma passed away peacefully at The Village Long Term Care Home in Hanover on Monday, January 15, 2024 in her 79th year.

Born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan on May 21, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Ernie and Bessie (nee Huntley) Bennett.

Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph ‘Joe’ Nolan in 1994.

She was the loving and caring mom of Brad Kentner (Angie) of Alberta, Tracy Wilton (James) of Walkerton, and Shawn Nolan of Georgian Bluffs.

Norma was the proud grandma of Chad, Courtney, Shanelle, Justine, Rachel, Dani, Taylor and Steven, and 7 great grandchildren.

She was one of 17 Bennett children, Norma is survived by her siblings Larry, Edna, Wayne, Eleanor, and Edith, and was predeceased by 11 of her siblings.  She will be remembered fondly by the Nolan family and by her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Norma was always on the go; walking, crocheting, doing puzzles and anything else she could do to keep busy.  She loved the holidays and spending time with family.  Over the years she has enjoyed trips to Alberta to visit Brad’s family.  Norma loved campfires and being outdoors. She was a great mom, the perfect balance of stern and loving.  She will be missed but never forgotten.

Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 1 until 4 p.m.  A private service of committal and interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.

    Dear Tracy, Bradley and Shawn,

Gary and I are so sorry to hear of Aunt Norma’s passing. We have very fond memories of her during the early days when we visited the Bennett family in Thornbury many, many years ago and again when you lived in Trenton. She was certainly a lot of fun to be around.

On behalf of our mother, Edna, we would like to extend her deepest condolences and love to you all.
