Ellis, Olive Kathleen

Olive Ellis of Meaford passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in her 80th year.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Don Ellis of Meaford, by her children; Julie, Philip, Tracey, Joy, and was predeceased by her son Zane and her daughter Wendy.

Olive was predeceased by her foster parents Wesley and Myrtle Patton, and by her siblings Leona, Doris, Pauline, Elwood, Roy and Lorne.

Born in Glenelg Township on October 3, 1940 to her biological parents William and Mildred (nee Brodie). She will be remembered by her siblings Margaret, Glen, Joan, Edward, Beverley and was predeceased by siblings Agnus, John and James.

Olive will be remembered fondly by her twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She will be remembered also by her sisters-in-law of Blanch, Alice, Elaine, Merry and brother-in-law Gordon Lourie. She was predeceased by Francis, Murray, Robert, Betty, Barry, and Gerry.

Olive was a special aunt to many nieces, nephews and their families.

Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 1 until 4 o’clock. A private family service of interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford on Monday, February 24, 2020.

    We are very sorry to hear about Olive’s passing, Don. You and your family have our deepest sympathy. Attended Blantyre School with her and she would let us ride her beautiful bicycle. Watched her grow up in the community, but did not see too much of her after she married and had a family. That is a wonderful picture of her.
