Hindle, Patricia Ann

April 16, 1948 - September 21, 2023

After a courageous battle with illness, Patricia passed away peacefully in her uncle’s chair, covered with her favorite blanket, and with James, her eternal companion of over 55 years, by her side.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband James Hindle of Clarksburg.

She will be sorely missed by her daughters Carol (Keith), Kay (Tara) and Ila (Joe), grandchildren, Athena, Anna, Nelson, Lucas, Stephanie, Cole, Kahl and great-grandchildren Hunter, Ryker, Kayne, Emma, Serenity.

Patricia’s favorite movie was the Sound of Music and visiting Austria’s Sound of Music Tour with a visit to Switzerland created tremendous memories for Patricia and James.  She loved music and after her stroke, her experience with the Sweet Adelines brought her joy; as did trips to Hawaii, Texas, Costa Rica, Florida, Alberta, PEI, England and Ireland.

Patricia and James’ life together all kicked off on St. Patrick’s Day 1968 when she received her diamond ring and then they were off to Salt Lake City Temple to be married for time and all eternity on June 3, 1968.

Patricia was raised in foster homes and by her single mother. She always showed love and affection to her daughters, grandchildren, and her 5 great-grandchildren. Her family meant the world to Patricia.  Everyone loved her and she was fondly called ‘little mama bear’.

Special thanks to Dr. Kara Fauser, the Meaford hospital staff, and the home-visit nurses Carrie and David that looked over Patricia in the past years, and to the community for their loyal support.

A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (490 2nd Ave. Southeast, Owen Sound) on Tuesday, September 26 at 11:00am with an hour of visitation prior.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Friday, September 29 at the Marsh Street Centre, Clarksburg.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation or Family History Centre (donations by cheque to be made to the “Family History Center c/o The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”) would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

I was fortunate to know Pat during her later years. After her first stroke we went to the Y together. She was fiercely independent and loved her car. We then went on the occasional grocery or meal outing. I loved her fun loving nature and heard lots about her children!

She was a joy to spend time with, and so proud of what her and her husband had built in both business and family. Rest in peace Patricia. Until we meet again❤️
