Criddle, Paul David Kenneth

Paul Criddle passed away tragically as the result of a cycling accident on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the age of 59.

Paul was a good man – kind, honest, loyal, hard working, fiercely independent, and always willing to help.  He loved all animals, especially dogs.  He was a good buddy and always willing to share a coffee or get together and do something.  Life was hard on Paul sometimes, but he met it with a resilience that was admirable.  Paul might get mad at you, but he was willing to forgive you.  He knew that God loved him.

Paul was predeceased by his mother, Bertha ‘Birdie’ Criddle in 2021.  He mentioned often how much he loved and missed her.  We trust that a happy reunion has occurred.  Paul loved his brothers – Ricky and Tom ‘Mark’ with a loyalty that was stronger than tough times.

He will be remembered fondly by his uncle Bob Dean and aunt Marjorie Dorey and their families.

Paul will be missed by his girlfriend Belinda Boyes and her family.

He treasured his church family at Blue Mountain Community Church and appreciated the friendships he made there – especially with Laura Woolner, Ron Smith, Andrew Morris, and Jen and Bob Lay.

He was a special part of the Holvik family – Adrian, Becky, Ian, and Matthew will miss his presence at their table and on their boat.

Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at the Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11 o’clock. A service celebrating Paul’s life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Blue Mountain Community Church, where Paul’s life will be celebrated by all who knew and loved him.

Paul was a firm believer in the power of onions for health and wellness.  In honour of Paul – consider onions in your next meal to avoid this season’s colds… but also take your dog for a walk, smile at someone on that walk, and consider a donation to the Blue Mountain Community Church (Cheques Only please) or a charity of your choice.

Paul will be truly missed. He was generous and helpful, willing to lend a hand or give advice, especially about dog training.
He possessed a lovely innocence despite having dealt with many difficulties in life. He was a grateful man, who appreciated anything that his friends and church family did for him.
Time spent chatting over a coffee was often the best part of my day.

    I can’t imagine what you’re going through.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I don’t know what to say, I wish I had the all the right words to comfort you who call Paul family and friend.
Paul had huge faith in Jesus, and the life everlasting for all those who believe in Him, he had strong courage, he directly impacted my faith positively when I was having a horrible struggle with my health, he listened he cared and he encouraged me to never give up, life wasn’t always easy for Paul so he could really relate to people who were suffering and was easy to talk to, he was certainly funny too and just beamed with joy when talking about Belinda, he missed his mom a lot, we would always agree that she was watching and waiting for it him in Heaven with the Lord and one day we would see Heaven but until then we had to live this life first He really liked my dog Ticky, he sure loved his dog, was a kind pet handler he loved very much his brothers who he cared
about he always mentioned his close friends and always seemed up to date on their lives as well, we had a mutual friend Lorraine and I know she will also miss Paul, he often mentioned his extended family Becky and Adrian and the boys He loved sharing stories of his friends and family and listening all about mine.
Paul had immense respect for the things of God, he represented his Christian faith with pride,
What I can say though is Paul was a friend to me, I will miss Paul, he always showed so much heart in his conversations, he truly cared about the well being of others
Paul was so nice to me; whenever I needed a helping hand when helping at M Villa, I could as always count on him to give me a hand, when making grocery deliveries to people and wellness checks, he truly was a cheerful giver and would a
Paul will be missed by so many people.
See you at the eastern gate my friend.

We heard about the tragic accident and remember Paul with a smile . He was friendly with all and helpful to BVO from time to time. He was a familiar face on Bruce street in Thornbury and will be missed by all the dogs and their owners.
