Kenny, Ralph Victor

Ralph Kenny, born March 14th, 1950, passed away on Monday, March 31st, 2025 at 75 years of age.

At 7 years old, Ralph moved from England to Canada with his family, settling in Hamilton, Ontario. He spent nearly 40 years working in grocery retail in various roles, and as a union steward for many years, he was proud to support fairness and equity in his workplace. Ralph highly valued his Canadian citizenship and would often remark that we are so very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place.

Ralph loved music, building an impressive record collection that brought him daily joy over many decades. He knew every word by heart. He had a curious mind and was an avid reader, delving often into the mysteries of the solar system and of human history.  Ralph was a very independent person, however, was thankful for the small community of neighbours and downtown businesses in Meaford, Ontario, where he spent his later years. Through their kindness and support, Ralph remained connected in community, despite increasing health challenges.

Ralph leaves behind his daughter Liz Buckton (Tim) and granddaughter Olivia; his son Matthew; his sister Theresa Doucette (Al) and their daughters Emily & Jenna. He is predeceased by his parents Ralph & Jetta; his sister Lynn; and friend & co-parent, Nancy. He will be deeply missed.

Family will honour Ralph’s passing privately. Interment will take place at Mount Hamilton Cemetery in the coming days.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Auxiliary (Cheques Only) would be appreciated, and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E, Meaford, ON, N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.

So sorry for your loss Liz and family. Ralph was one of our customers. One day Ralph said do you want to hear me sing and I said sure. He had such a commanding voice it was beautiful to hear him sing.
