Rodberg, Rebecca Lynn 'Becky'
Becky passed away peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre with family by her side on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the age of 73.
Born in Belleville on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1949, Becky was a daughter of Marion (nee Brown) Rodberg and the late Bill Rodberg.
Becky was the much-loved mother of Laura Watson-Dam (Sharon) and Dawn Johnson (Bob), mother-in-law of Jennifer Zehr (Kevin), and was predeceased by her son Craig Watson.
She was the proud Gramma of Kurtis (Michelle), Mitch, Kelly (Keegan), Emily (Alec), Rachel, Abbie (Micaiah), and Great Gramma of Aubrie, Paisley, Maxton and Maverick.
She was the dear sister of Ruth McNabb (Brooke) and was predeceased by her sister Gini Larson. She will be remembered fondly by her brother-in-law Harold Larson (Pauline).
Becky was a wonderful storyteller and loved to share stories of her children and grandchildren with family and friends. Music brought Becky great joy and she had a strong faith; she was comforted knowing that she would soon be reunited with her loved ones who have passed before her. Her family truly appreciated the wonderful care that Becky received at Riverside Lane – Meaford Long Term Care Centre during a challenging time in her life.
Family will receive friends to Celebrate Becky’s Life at the Cook Street Pentecostal Church in Meaford on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 1 until 4 p.m., with tributes shared at 2 o’clock. All are invited to join for a time of fellowship and refreshment. A private graveside interment will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

Spent many hours with Becky, over more than 6 years as she carried out her duties as the secretary for Parkdale Baptist Church in Belleville, and as a result I have much respect for her and a great fondness. Our entire church family are praying for God’s comfort for her family, that they might experience the power and presence of Christ in this time of mourning. She talked constantly about her grandchildren and her children, so proud of them, and I am certain she didn’t want to leave you guys. But I am also certain she was so happy to be reunited with her Craig, who entered glory before her.

Have known Becky most of her life. We went together to serve the Lord at Nakamun Camp in Alberta. I believe she was 17 or 18 at the time. Connected over the years at various times. She truly loved her family. Our deepest sympathy to all the family. May you find comfort in knowing that Becky knew the Lord and will be with those she loved that have gone on before. You will grieve, but hold unto the memories, the memories help us to go on. Sometimes the memories will make you laugh, sometimes smile, sometimes cry, but always remind you of the special person who was so much a part of your lives. Caring & Praying, Bob & Pauline Roswell

It is with a sad heart I write this note to Laura ( Sharon) Dawn ( Bob) , Jennifer ( Kevin ) Ruth and Brooke and all their families. Becky was a special cousin who was always there for me both as a youngster and an adult. When I was visiting Belleville and Becky lived there, Becky and I would visit and talk whenever our Mom’s got together. It was fun getting to know each other as adults and not just the older/younger cousin. I have many fond memories of times spent together there and from the beginning times on Foster Ave. Graham and I would like to send our condolences to everyone who’s lives were touched by Becky and may your memories of happy times with Becky bring you comfort in this difficult time.

We first met your Mom when she moved into the apartments beside the old nursing home. She was always so friendly and happy. Continued on when she moved into both nursing homes. Our deepest sympathy. Carol Ormsby
