Campbell, Robert Alexander 'Bob'

Bob passed away peacefully in his wife’s arms at his home in Rocklyn surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born in Meaford, he was a son of the late Alex and Lillie (nee Fox) Campbell.

He will be missed dearly by his beloved wife Alva (nee Johnston) Campbell.

Bob was the proud father of Todd (Karen), Kevin (Stacey), and Tyler (Catharine).

He was the wonderful Poppa of Hunter (Meghan) and their children Riley and Fox, Taylor, Alexa (Brogan) and their children Brooks and Tate, Bailey (Brady), Denver, Coralyn (Beau) and their son Beckham, Delaney, Miranda, Renayla, Lillien and Sierra.

Bob was the much-loved brother of John ‘Jack’ Campbell (Sharon) and Brenda Doran (late Floyd).  He was predeceased by his sister Jean Ann Skippen and will be remembered fondly by his brother-in-law Ivan Skippen and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families.

Bob was a dairy farmer on the 4th line for many years along side his wife and sons, their farm was proudly known as Tovinler Farms.  They exported cattle to the United States, Mexico and England from their well-established herd.  The family spent a lot of time together preparing the land, harvesting the crops, tending to the daily dairy herd chores and learning life lessons  in the stoney fields of Rocklyn.

Bob was a large supporter of the Rocklyn community, whether it was coaching hockey, playing slo-pitch or a lively game of broomball.  He and Alva volunteered with the Agricultural Society, Arena Board, Minor Hockey and 4H.  They helped out wherever and whenever an extra set of hands was needed.

Bob was a hard worker and also found time to enjoy the Rocklyn community block tours, cruise nights with the old cars and enjoyed dancing to the older country music. He and Alva liked to work away at puzzles together.  They were rarely apart and their family meant the world to them.  Bob was patient, kind, protective and always encouraging with his steady love. His memory will continue to guide us and he will definitely be a source of strength when we need him most.

Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 1 until 4 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Meaford United Church on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11 o’clock with a reception following. Rocklyn will never be the same again. Bob was a big part of my youth between sports and 4H. Bob and Alva welcomed Todd and his friends to their home on many Saturday evenings. Many fond memories from the hockey rink and around Rocklyn.
Will be missed by many. Thanks for the memories.

Orville and I are so very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. We have been friends for many, many years and have so many fond memories. We remember the many dances we attended years ago and more recently the very competitive card games. Most recently we had fun reminiscing. My condolences to Alva, all Bob’s family and friends. Bob and Alva were great friends. I’ll always remember going to dances where Alva and Bob danced like professionals. One Christmas on our way to Vandeleur our car stopped in front of their place on the 4th line. They towed in to their place, called my dad to pick us up. Bob would usually buy one of Don’s birdhouses at a silent auction, then said he had to supply the pole. There are so many good things I could say but I would run out of time and space. Rest in peace, Bob.
