Bullock, Robert 'Bob'
December 1, 1944 - August 1, 2024
We are devastated to announce the death of Robert ‘Bob’ Bullock. Husband to Cheryl for over 55 years. Dad to Paul (Lindsay) & Teri (Bill) & beloved dog Jake. Exceptionally proud Grandpa to Tom, Max and Charlie. Brother to Carol (Garry).
Dad was simply a really great guy; he lived a big and beautiful life. Born in Dundas, then moving to Brantford, Brampton, Thornbury and finally and delightfully Meaford. He made friends easily and frequently from the golf clubs he was a member at to the neighbourhoods he lived and the places he worked. Dad was never ending fun for two generations of nieces and nephews and of course with his grandsons. From playing “rough voyage” to the “shark game” and so many other moments Dad loved to have fun while every once in a while, imparting some wisdom and a frequent joke. Mom and Dad built a life to be envied together and one that Dad was so proud of and grateful for. They travelled and played golf and bridge and revelled in their family. We have so many beautiful memories of the man and his stellar life but for now we will grieve this profound loss.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bob’s life in the near future.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Uncle Bob. Not blood related but, along with Aunt Cheryl, Paul and Teri ever present as family in our home and our lives throughout my childhood and into my early teen years. His optimism, positivity and enthusiasm for life had an impact on everyone he met. While he enjoyed time at the golf club, he was equally happy to run across the grass with us kids and dive into an inflatable pool in the back yard. His sense of humour was enviable, and was a catalyst for many of the events and charitable initiatives of the legendary “Mission Circle”. My Father Roger, and Bob would tease each other endlessly, and discuss and debate enthusiastically, sometimes late into the night (to my young mind). When they put their minds to a humorous enterprise, the results were frequently entertaining. The Brantford Expositor knows not how many fake birth, wedding and funeral announcements graced its pages and those announcements were only outdone by the actual parties that inspired them.
Bob was a compelling man. On one occasion, the “Mission Circle” had embarked on a dinner cruise on the Grand River. As the cruise ship navigated the river, Bob and my father got to speaking with the Captain of the ship. Bob detailed how my father was an ex freighter pilot who had navigated all the waters of the St. Lawrence up to Lake Superior and suggested that maybe my dad could navigate for a while. Impressed, the captain of the ship offered the helm to my father, and without hesitation my dad took the wheel. As my dad steered the ship, discussion and laughs continued. Then some time down the river the ashen faced captain urgently regained control of the boat in a difficult to navigate section of the river when, to his surprise, Bob and my dad let the captain know that in fact my father had no experience with boats at all.
Bob was a loyal friend, and long after leaving the Brantford area continued to maintain ties – something that was always appreciated. Bob will certainly be missed by many, but please Cheryl, Teri and Paul, take some solace in knowing that memories of
Uncle Bob will always be attached to a smile.

I have many fond memories of Bob from our first adventure working at Deer Lodge one summer to high school hijinks to lastly visiting him during Covid in Lora Bay. His enthusiasm for life and energy made him friends wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by friends and by his wonderful family. My deepest sympathy to all.

Cheryl, I am at a loss for words…..maybe pass or 3 no trump will bring back many happy memories. When you moved from # 6 we wanted to commemorate your back patio for all the parties and great times we had there. Gone but not forgotten. All my love to you and family. May he rest in peace on a heavenly golf.

Cheryl, Paul, Teri and family and Jake
Thinking of you all at this time. It was so nice to have everyone home and watch the boys play in the back yard. We were just getting to know you both and Gene will miss looking around the corner to see if Bob was out on the deck.
Hold on to the memories and the times you spent together. They may fade, but… they never go away.
A toast to Bob, all of you, Jake, the neighbourhood will miss you

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was a great classmate all through elementary and in high school in Dundas. He made friends easily and was always fun to be with. Unhappily we parted company after high school and only just recently reacquainted. Still the same good guy. May he rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I’ve known Bob from our teenage years and he was always a source of fun and good times. I do know from his pictures and messages over the years that he passed this on to his family with much love and caring. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Teri,
I almost feel I know your dad from the photos and memories you’ve generously shared. There’s a line from a Dennis Lee poem: “Tell the people you love/that you love them/Tell them now”. You father surely felt how much you loved and appreciated him.
Love,
Marni

Cheryl, Paul, Teri and families.
We are so very sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. We have such great memories of our river cruises, golf, winters in California, and adventures with both of you. He always had an upbeat attitude and a smile for everyone (especially dogs). I don’t think Bob could walk past a dog without stopping & talking to it.
We are so grateful for having spent some time with Bob a few days before his passing.
He will be missed.
Our sincerest condolences.
Chuck & Brenda
